As a result, `dual passport' homosexual couples are often forced to live apart. The United States lags other democracies such as Canada, South Africa, the United Kingdom and Australia in extending fair treatment in immigration polices to gay couples. The Permanent Partner Immigration Act, introduced in the House today by Jerold Nadler of New York, would remedy this injustice by allowing US citizens of any sexual orientation to sponsor their partners to become US citizens. I hope that you'll support this important measure.
