I'm writing now to thank you for your thoughtful and favourable response to my earlier letter, and to let you know of a potential opportunity to shut down Carnivore by legislative means. According to an alert distributed last week by the American Civil Liberties Union, Representative Dick Armey has recently said that he is considering seeking budget cuts to stop the use of Carnivore. I hope that you'll join in this bipartisan effort to rein in the FBI's abuse of power.
