Subject: withdraw John Bolton's nomination

I urge you to withdraw your nomination of John Bolton as ambassador to the
United Nations.  Mr Bolton's history of open hostility to the very concept of
the United Nations would make it difficult if not impossible for him to perform
the delicate tasks of diplomacy essential to forging a global, cooperative
approach to issues such as arms proliferation, peace in the Middle East, and
the protection of human rights.  His candidacy for the post of ambassador to
the UN is dividing the Congress and the people of the United States, and
alienating allies.  Surely a nominee can be found who would evoke more unified
support.
