Thank you for co-sponsoring Senator Kerry's S.114, the "Kids Come First Act",
which would provide funds and incentives to ensure health insurance cover for
almost every currently uninsured child in the United States.  The ballooning
cost of health insurance, fed by the insurance bureaucracy as well as by
technology costs, has led to the elimination of health insurance benefits in
many service industries and at many small companies, leaving health cover out
of reach even for many working families.  Taxpayers inevitably end up footing
the bill for such cases, which become more expensive in the end because they
receive no preventive care and are seen only when they end up at casualty
services.  S.114 would benefit both families and employers.
