I hope that you'll support HR 810, the Stem Cell Research Enhancement Act, which has been passed by the House and is due for a Senate vote soon. This bill would amend the Public Health Service Act to ensure that human stem cells from surplus embryos produced in in vitro fertilisation clinics, which are non-viable anyway, could be put to good use in biomedical research. It's a great loss to be throwing away these embryos when the stem cells that they contain have such potential to speed progress towards cures for disease.
