Thank you for your recent pledge not to sign any short-term extension of the
USA PATRIOT Act.  I urge you to keep this promise; your veto of the one-month
extension passed yesterday by the House of Representatives will ensure the
timely expiry of many objectionable provisions of the USA PATRIOT Act at the
end of next week, and the restoration of some of the Fourth Amendment freedoms
that were all too hastily sacrificed four years ago.
