I hope that you'll support HR 985, the Whistleblower Protection Enhancement
Act.  During the past six years we've seen time and again how the Bush
government has punished internal criticism and chilled voices of dissent.
We've seen the consequences of this policy in the incompetence and failure of
many agencies and departments, from defence to emergency management to, most
recently, the Attorney General's office.  These circumstances make it clear
that Congress must act to enhance protections for "whistleblowers," who are
well placed to counter unproductive policies.
