I hope that you'll use your position on the Judiciary Committee to support
S.1747, the Presidential Signing Statements Act.  This bill would help to put
a stop to the president's usurpation of congressional legislative authority
through his use of signing statements.  The bill would explicitly remove
signing statements from the consideration of the courts in interpreting law,
and would give congress the power to have amicus briefs and congressional
resolutions considered during such judicial interpretation.
