I hope that you'll sign the bipartisan letter organised by Edward Markey and
others requesting at least a 7% increase in the budget for the National
Institutes of Health in fiscal year 2010, and the similar letter organised by
Rush Holt and others requesting $7 billion for the National Science Foundation
in fiscal year 2010.  As you know, biomedical and other scientific research is
a particularly important component of the Eighth District's economy, as well as
a benefit to public health.
