A year ago you were promising to close George Bush's prison at Guantanamo. Now you are promising to keep fifty of its inmates imprisoned without trial indefinitely. By failing to live up to the ideal codified in the Sixth Amendment, you are providing the enemies of the United States with the rhetorical ammunition that they need, and so helping to breed a new generation of anti-US militants. The prisoners at Guantanamo - all of them - should be charged and tried. If you haven't sufficient evidence to charge them and to try them, then you must release them.
