I write to oppose S. 1693, the so-called Stop Enabling Sex Traffickers Act.
This bill is a possibly well-intentioned but ultimately counterproductive
scheme which would set the horrid precedent of making media organisations
and communications providers liable for the content of the third-party
communications that they transmit.  It would chill communications and
innovation, paralysing communications media-orientated small businesses
under the threat of possible litigation.
